[community profile] fan_writers is now open for business. It's a multifandom comm for meta about writing. Please post or link your writing theory, tips, techniques, and other writing meta here. As the name suggests, our primary context is fanfiction, but original-fiction writers are also very welcome. We're just here to geek out about writing!

Join, subscribe, say hi on the Introduction post, and comment with Tumblrs, podcasts, Substacks, and any other writing resources you'd recommend on the Resources post. But most of all, post or link to your meta about writing, and join in the discussions. (Or lurk. Lurkers are absolutely welcome, too.)

Hope to see you over at [community profile] fan_writers!

How's everyone doing? I'm having a devil of a time with a particular WIP. I seem to have let myself be distracted by other things (reading fanfic, re-reading Murderbot, procrastinating in general--omg even vacuuming).

Why is it so hard to just open the folder and work on it? I like the story, and I like where it's going. But I'm at a point where decisions must be made to move forward.

Decision fatigue is definitely a thing.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm drawn to the idea of Rodney being ordered back to Earth. Only he doesn't want to leave, so he doesn't go back to Earth.

Why not? Because various Pegasus cultures step in. They recognize his value and put up a bidding war for McKay.

I want to see the SGC have to enter the Pegasus bidding war to get Rodney back (because we know the SGC will come to realize that Atlantis can't or won't function without him).

Which begs the next question. What would John do to get him back? The brain ponders...

*weeps* I don't need another bunny right now. How about you? Got any plot bunnies that are jumping up and begging for attention?

Do you side-eye them and pretend they aren't there? Kick them under the bed? Give up and feed them chocolate?
